British artist, Tilly Valentine, has been described as “one of the revolutions of music this year” after the run of her self-released singles and angelic debut EP, ‘Nothing Left to Say’.
Being recognised for her playful and conversational lyrics, Valentine’s style has been best described as "the type of quirky you can pair with a coffee or party”. Valentine effortlessly reveals her trademark jazz influences as heard on Jazz FM; teasing scat ideas through an elegant vocal, complementing the retro blend of pop displayed in her single ‘Fit for a King’. The track was broadcast on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra, The Hot List, and BBC Introducing’s Best of 2020.
Valentine's tracks have soothed the ears of many tastemakers, including Jamz Supernova who premiered her debut single 'Coins' on BBC Radio 1Xtra. Her self-directed music video was awarded “Best Music Video” by Music Republic Magazine, alongside a shortlist for Best Female Artist, Best New Artist and Best Song/Songwriter. Her soulful single ‘Brick by Brick' and ‘Calendar Girl’ were broadcast on BBC Radio 6 Music, with Shaun Keaveny championing her “beautiful pop music”, with The BBC Introducing Mixtape. The BRIT School alumna later collaborated with producer edbl on their co-written love songs, 'Table for Two’ and 'Symmetry'.
With over a million streams across the board, Valentine’s latest single ‘Calendar Girl’ earned its spot on New Music Friday, it sets the tone for 2021 to be her best year yet.
