Swedish-born Andy Salvanos is a solo performer and recording artist based in Australia. His music is noted for its organic sound and fluid melodies, played on the unusual 10-string Chapman Stick.
Salvanos, who originally built a large fan base as a street musician, has performed at major events such as the National Folk Festival, Adelaide Guitar Festival and Cygnet Folk Festival. His music can be heard in the South Australian feature film “Charlotte” (2017), and French-produced documentary “The Chookman” (2014). Salvanos has also opened for Canadian singer Jane Siberry, and played bass for Australia’s leading indigenous songwriter Archie Roach on “The Tracker”.
Andy retains an active performance schedule and a passion for making live music accessible to everyone, including those who are financially disadvantaged or physically unable to attend concerts. He works tirelessly to engage with his listeners, and streams live on social media on a regular basis, as well as playing music in various public locations around Australia. With seven solo albums to his credit and a new single with guitarist Tommy Berre (March 2019), his music continues to evolve and find a wider audience.
