“Worshipping at the church of CBGB circa 1976, Black Rabbit’s music spans the gamut of the artists who played there: early Ramones to early Blondie.
“Nicky Says” sounds like a nod to the Velvet Underground’s “Candy Says,” while “It’s Cold” could be a lost Dead Boys song.” -County Tracks, 5/3/17.
Black Rabbit is a rock band that began in Burlington, VT in 2011. Some call it punk. Others say garage. A few might even label it power pop. Whatever you call it, the songs are short and catchy with lots of hooks and sing-along choruses. Marc and Darlene started out in New York City in a band called Ride The Mole, and then moved to Vermont and regrouped as a power trio featuring the core elements of guitar, bass and drums. Their interests include melody, harmony, loudness, and speed. In 2015 Black Rabbit released the critically-acclaimed full-length album Red Flannel Hash and were named “Best Rock Artist/Group” by Seven Days.
Marc Scarano – vocals and guitar.
Darlene Scarano – bass and vocals.
Trevor Jewett – drums.
