The Ragged Jubilee is a Garage Rock & Blues band from San Luis Obispo, California.
They are influenced by various decades and genres of music - from Dick Dale to Black Sabbath, Booker T. The Doors. The Black Keys. Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan and Stevie Ray Vaughn - you’ll hear notes of one, and shades of another in each release. Yet each exploration is unique, as the band continues to evolve its own signature blend of grit and soul.
Front man, Ethan Burns, cycles between instruments and donates a mix of different sounds, from harmonica and slide guitar, to organ and electric guitar.
They released their first self-titled album (The Ragged Jubilee) in 2009 with further releases in 2011 (American Moan) and 2013 (In the Valley) that held critical acclaim.
The band has toured at numerous established festivals, including SXSW, Coachella, and Jubilee Fest. During their rise, they were featured multiple times on AXS LIVE and also made appearances in Thrasher and People magazine.
Their latest release, Pyramid Scheme, is a return to California Rock n’ Roll with soaring psychedelic notes, driving Blues riffs, and raw, Garage grit. Their first vinyl release, initially available in a limited-edition red pressing (500 copies) through Aggravated Music is currently OUT OF STOCK.
