Tom was raised in Wisconsin, and went to college in Missouri on a wrestling scholarship with plans to become a schoolteacher. A year of student teaching changed his mind, but he still wanted to make a difference in the world -- so he decided, to the surprise of family and friends, to become a Catholic priest, moving to Washington DC to study. Frustrated by a series of #metoo experiences, Tom found his voice, and healing in his music.
Tom's latest album, Territories, was written over the course of a year of separate travels with his husband and a newly found lover. Territories tells the complex story of a changing marriage and a new relationship through songs named after the places that inspired them. It's a stunning evolution of substance and style for a proven performer who has embarked on a thrilling new journey.
