Haleek Maul first surfaced in 2012 aged just 16 with the critically acclaimed ‘Oxyconteen’ EP, which showcased a rare talent, wise beyond his years. This was followed by collaborations with Ryan Hemsworth, Le1f and others. In 2015 he dropped the full length ‘Prince Midas’ mixtape, featuring Saul Williams and produced by WIFE, Last Japan, Black Noi$e, Cubby and Maul himself.
He later signed with Lex Records and released 2018’s ‘In Permanence’ EP, featuring Saul Williams and Embaci, and produced by GILA, D Tiberio & Dasychira.
His new single ‘Ceiling Fan’ is produced by Morris (Kelela, Le1f), and finds him opening a new musical chapter. The single channels his multi-cultural background as he alternates between technical raps and fleeting moments of Caribbean vocal rhythms, which offers an indication of the new sounds Haleek is exploring on his forthcoming debut album.
