Our first album, The Unsung, was the funeral party for the forgotten fallen who lost their lives to music, including Prokofiev’s wife, Radiohead’s drum technician and the victims of the Bataclan concert hall attack.
Our second album, A Beautiful Way to be Crazy, explores female experiences in the music industry and was researched through interviews with female-identifying music practitioners in roles from sound engineers to singers. The tracks range from synthy soundscapes to stomping soul and pop and draw on influences including Delia Derbyshire, Nina Simone and Joni Mitchell. A book containing all the lyrics was published by Verve Poetry Press in 2020.
Our music was born from gig theatre shows which toured nationwide to venues including London’s Roundhouse, Birmingham Hippodrome, Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre and the Edinburgh Fringe. We are double winners of the Buxton Fringe Spoken Word Award and were called “one of the most powerful voices of the Fringe” by one reviewer during our run at Underbelly in 2019.
