LE SON (Liam Fergus & Emily Ady) are an electronic duo from South/East London. Hailing from a combination of East London and South Wales, Liam and Emily come together to create a minimal yet soulful sound, inspired by their contrasting musical influences. Liam's production style blends his love of jazz and experimental artists such as Robert Glasper, Flying Lotus and James Blake. Whilst Emily's soulful yet haunting vocal style is inspired by darker and more electronic artists such as Thom Yorke, Portishead and Fever Ray. The pair first attracted attention with their debut single ‘Without A Sound’, which appeared on Oprah Winfrey Network drama 'Queen Sugar’, as well as being plugged by production and drumming icon Questlove. They have since released double single ‘Ava / 1008’ was well received online, with the lead single ‘Ava’ hitting the top 10 viral tracks worldwide. LE SON’s debut, self-titled EP was released in October 2019 on independent label Squareglass. They launched the EP with an intimate headline gig at the House of St Barnabas Chapel, Soho. The EP garnered a vast amount of radio support from the likes of Jamz Supernova (BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra), Erica Mckoy (Worldwide FM) and Gilles Peterson Worldwide (Radio X, Germany). Liam and Emily write, record and produce all of their music and perform live as a four-piece band, featuring live bass and drums from Will Hughes & Jonny Coote respectively.
