It would take a move to Halifax, Nova Scotia and a few more years honing his writing chops before Stajcer would emerge a full-fledged alt-country artist, releasing his 2018 debut Will I Learn To Love Again? to national airplay and an East Coast Music Association nomination for Country Album of the Year.
You may call high school to 2018 a long hiatus, but Stajcer was making a name for himself as a studio engineer and more recently a producer (Villages, Matt Steele & The Corvette Sunset, and, of course, his own record) working at Joel Plaskett’s New Scotland Yard studio. Building that relationship with the veteran songwriter led to a co-writing session that spawned two cuts on Will I Learn To Love Again?
In 2016, Stajcer attended the Gordie Sampson Song Camp and has co-written with some of Nova Scotia’s most talented songwriters including Dylan Guthro, Dave Sampson, Steven MacDougall (Slowcoaster), Campbell Woods, and Plaskett. He performs consistently as a solo act or with a 5-piece band, touring across Canada.
