Eirik Myhr (born 1982), from the small Norwegian town of Ringebu, has been writing songs and composing music since the age of seven, and worked regularly on Norwegian films, television and stage productions for the last 12 years.
The constant versatility of the projects is what keeps him going, whether it is a daunting string orchestra score like Astrid Lindgren's Brørne Løvehjarte (Musikken frå framsyninga på Det Norske Teatret), or the crazy, Ylvis-like songs for comedian Bård Tufte Johansen's wildly popular stand-up performance "Mann (44)".
Myhr's feature film scores include Los Bando, Bestevenner (Rafiki) - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and De Tøffeste Gutta (The Tough Guys). For the latter, Myhr was awarded the 2013 Music Award by composer and lyricist organization NOPA, as well as "Best Comedy Score 2013" by film music website Reel Music. For the stage, he has scored three different stageplay adaptations of Henrik Ibsen's "Peer Gynt", including Peer Gynt: Utfor Stupet and Peer Gynt: Selvets Keiser, as well as crafted the musical fairytale universe of Trollnatt - Musikken fra forestillingene i Hunderfossen Eventyrpark - the annual summer stageplay concept at the folklore-themed amusement park Hunderfossen. In addition, he has penned themes for a number of famous Norwegian TV series like "Brillebjørn" and "Tangerudbakken", scored many short films, and in between battles he is working on his new solo EP, aptly titled "Wait for it - Vol. 1".
