Somewhat shrouded in mystery, Hunterchild’s arrival came to be in 2012 when Jones and Sprowles continued to collaborate after the end of their former musical project, Dreamers of the Ghetto.
With high accolades and unnumbered notable posts from their previously released, 2014 self titled debut album on Temporary Residence, Hunterchild is described as emotive, dark, powerful, sexy and soulful. Hunterchild separates and solidifies its sound in the unmistakeable vocal presence of Jones and the ever present symphonic and incessant rhythms of Sprowles and Jones collaboration.
Hunterchild’s influences are subconscious embedments, flashbacks and fleeting memories. Still, rising to consciousness, there are notes reminiscent of early Sade, Prince, Depeche Mode, Peter Gabriel, The Weeknd, James Blake, and Future Islands.
Hunterchild’s anticipated sophomore record Titled “no evil / live on” is was released January 12th on Antifragile Music. You can find it here and on any good and legitimate digital download and streaming source.
