The band got its start in Eugene amidst the music scene at the University of Oregon where they carved out a significant following before moving to Los Angeles and entering into a recording deal with Cordless Recordings of Warner Music Group. Shortly thereafter, the group released their second EP: Sceneboy. The single was described by the Knitting Factory as "destined for great things, at least the conquering of all iPods in the free world.”
If you were at all into emo, synthpop or “scenecore” music between the years of 2005 to 2010, there’s a good chance you heard Aerodrone. The band opened for the likes of Imagine Dragons, Chromeo, LMFAO and Young the Giant, and toured nationally with fellow electro bands Freezepop, The Ready Set and Apoptygma Berzerk.
Aerodrone is frontman and composer Gary Zon on vocals, Kevin Patrick on guitars, and TZA on keyboards.
