Yordan Martinez is a Cuban trombonist, innovative arranger, composer, and musical director. As a versatile and multifaceted musician, Martinez is a creative artist; he stands out for his improvisations and unique musical arrangements.
Here are some great experiences he has realised : He joined Klimax led by Giraldo Piloto in 2000, he recorded “Klimax and Friends” and participated at the Jazz Festivals tour in Europe. Klimax was invited at the Ottawa Bluesfest in 2003 and at this time, Yordan Martinez decided to stay in Canada for living. In 2008, he received his diploma degree at Faculté de Musique de l’Université de Montréal and play with Michel Donato, Oliver Jones, et Michel Legrand. In 2011, Yordan Martinez and The Cuban Martinez Show won the “Syli d’Or” of world music with his compositions, organised by Nuits d’Afrique. Since 2011, Yordan Martinez is the band leader of Dominique Hudson. Actually, Yordan Martinez and TCMS are performing more than 100 concerts a year, in the best venues and festivals of the province. In 2016, he recorded and did all arrangements for Dominique Hudson’s 3rd album. Finally, in autumn 2017, Yordan is launching is first album produced and realised by himself : “De Cienfuegos a Montreal”.
