A ‘little bit country and a whole lot of rock and roll’ describes powerhouse singer-songwriter Dahlia Wakefield.
Like many artists from humble beginnings,Dahlia was raised in a small rural town; she left when rock ’n’ roll and the bright lights of the big city beckoned.  Dahlia was excited to release her first single in a very long time called“You Don’t Get To Win” on June 20, 2020 to all digital streaming platforms. Produced by Rob Hewes, it features players Steve McGonigle on bass, Ben Samuels on drums, and guitarist Alan Tymofichuk, who also co-produced the song. Dahlia wrote “You Don’t Get To Win”
with her dear friend Bobbi-Jayne Stacey, who also sang on this song. It dedicated to anyone battling cancer and is a tribute to Bobbi who unfortunately lost her battle with cancer on Mother’s Day. A graduate of the Grant MacEwan Music program, Dahlia has been a finalist in several international songwriting competitions with her original songs and has released three solo albums as well as three albums with country rock band “Dirt Road Angels”. Dahlia (PRON: DALE-yuh), also a vocal and beginner piano coach, currently performs in various bands including “The Dahlia & Alan Duo”, “Dirt Road Angels” and “Dahlia & The Villains” throughout Alberta for the past several years and having a blast!  Dahlia's latest project is “Brigade”–Edmonton’s Heart Tribute Band, and she also enjoys singing solo at various retirement homes.  Dahlia looks forward to a lifetime of making music!
