Dancing from the dusk-lit doorways of finespun indie-folk to the panoramic rooftops of melodic jazz-pop, Melbourne singer-songwriter Mezz Coleman is a versatile artist who defies easy classification. Adored by folk festival audiences around the country and celebrated as “a musical treasure” (Bendigo Blues & Roots Festival), Coleman has a unique ability to conjure worlds, transporting audiences with her powerful vocals and straight-to-the-heart lyrics. Her career has seen her release two full-length albums, appear on national television, and open for the likes of art-pop chanteuse Kimbra, multi-award-winning songwriter Sara Storer, and iconic Australian artist Shane Howard (Goanna). Coleman is currently recording her third studio album, a chamber indie-pop record, produced by Rohan Sforcina (Oh Mercy, Kate Miller Heidke, Ali Barter, Ferla) and featuring Josh Jones on bass (Dan Sultan), Louis Spencely on drums (Eastbound Buzz), and long-time collaborator Pete Carr on guitar. When she’s not performing her own material, Mezz’s experience as a backing vocalist has given her the opportunity to work with many international and national artists including Nana Mouskouri, Brian McFadden, Marcia Hines, Delta Goodrem, Barry Humphries, John Foreman and the Melbourne Gospel Choir. She is currently touring as backing vocalist and keyboard player for The Marrollo Project’s “Uninvited: The Songs of Alanis Morissette” Show, starring powerhouse Katie Weston.
