Points Unknown is the familiar moniker for pacific northwest recording artist Austin Peters, including his solo works and collaborations (working with Peter Bell, David Scheinfeld, and Caroline Ponzini).
Like the name implies, Points Unknown conjures songs that tell stories of life, travel, love lost and found, and the journey to get from here to there. Austin gathers material inspired by both the physical and emotional trials of life on the road. Points Unknown music is reminiscent of classic American folk but is also combined with rock and blues rhythms creating a unique fusion of musical styles. His songs speak of the human desire to go beyond its natural borders to seek out points unknown.
His repertoire includes a wide variety of music ranging from acoustic ballads to western story songs, folk, and alternative rock. He has been compared to Townes Van Zandt, David Wilcox, and Dan Fogelberg, but his broad musical diversity creates what can only be described as a wholly original sound.
