Growing up on the countryside of a small town called Vrå in the northern part of Denmark, Al Jacobi's way into American hip hop was in no way written.
However, music was always a big part of Al's life as his father was a jazz and blues guitarist, and the likes of The Beatles and Marvin Gaye would often play in the house throughout his childhood. With time, Al discovered rap and artists like 50 Cent and Kanye West which would lead to him visiting the local library to borrow various classic and at that time trending hip hop records, and so his love for the genre began to blossom.
Drawing inspiration from both classic and modern hip hop, punk rock and various other genres have also contributed to the artist Al Jacobi whose musical content is never compromised to fit the bigger audience or political correctness. Never afraid to speak his mind or take a stand for the things he believe in, Al's artistic philosophy has always been to let the music speak for itself, and let the people speak how they will.
In 2018, Al moved to Århus to study at the Royal Academy of Music Århus where he met morttt_, and together they put out their debut EP, Sum Of Us in 2019. Not long after, he dropped his solo project Vice Words, and now, Crying In Separate Rooms with Bali Gamay is set to be released on September 13, 2019.
