“Ain’t nothing we can do, we’ve got Traveling Shoes” Those lyrics seem to sum up the life of the Canadian duo Lydia&Sebastien.
Consumed by wanderlust, the duo got going in 2013. Subsequently performing all over the world, writing and recording songs, they launched their first album in Fall 2015 and quickly established themselves on commercial radio back home.
They're first single got signed by Ultra Records. In 2017, the duo created their own label, Productions LS Music and released “Pleure Pas”. The song quickly reached the charts and was pre-nominated for the song of the year at l’ADISQ. Their songs are also starting to show up on famous TV shows such as “Shadow Hunters”.
From business meetings in L.A. to recording in Ibiza, from performing in Marrakech to shooting a video in Moscow, Lydia&Sebastien have gotten used to living in a suitcase. Even so, songwriting is always the priority. However, finding the right producer has been the most difficult part. They decided to work on their own production skills and have developed a style of their own by incorporating modern musical elements into their smooth organic sound. Song by song, the duo has increasingly veered towards adult alternative. “Lydia and I took time to step back and focus on what really defines us. We went back to a much more minimalist production to really give space for Lydia’s voice to shine” says Sebastien.
Two years later, Lydia&Sebastien have just release a new EP call TRAVELING SHOES!
