Low Horizon is a 4-piece indie rock band with hints of shoegaze/emo/lofi from Houston, TX. Their debut single, "Just Fine b/w After Party" was self-released on February 28, 2017.
Here Comes the Flood noted the lo-fi nature of the recordings before concluding "the songs have an irresistible charm."
On March 14, Low Horizon revealed that their EP "Four Songs too Long" would be released on April 21, 2017 and released "Funeral" as a single. Funeral was named one of the "5 Best New Songs of the Week" by Beautiful Freaks and one of the "5 Things We Liked this Week" by For the Rabbits, the latter of whom described the song as "a very promising start, from a band well worth keeping an eye on."
"Four Songs Too Long" was released on April 21, 2017 and received positive reviews from several music blogs. The Album Wall praised the band's "sloppy, chunky blend of pop-punk and garage rock music" (Next Time), synth-y instrumentation, and "jolly lyrics about death and grieving and stuff" (40//Death). Emerging Indie Bands described the EP as a "wide ranging journey of sound," while Here Comes the Flood noted the dichotomy of the lyrics and uplifting "blend of noise, garage and grunge rock."
On August 8, 2017, Low Horizon released stand alone single "Scarier Than Bears" and its b-side, "Again". The song was endearingly compared to a "blurry magic carpet ride" by Emerging Indie Bands.
