Stevie Jones is an independent acoustic-based singer songwriter based in Northants, UK with a career spanning four decades across a number of genres. He began his musical path as bassist/lyricist in 80's Kettering post punk trio Voices Of Sin. Witnessing Justin Sullivan and Billy Bragg perform solo live inspired him to go alone - switching to acoustic; busking and playing floor spots at local folk clubs.
He spent time in Germany in the duo Acres Wild extensively gigging and in Dublin, soaking up the city’s vibrant open mic scene. Back in the East Midlands in 2000 he began a close musical partnership with guitarist Mark Gill, and they built up a reputation as a solid acoustic/rock act - described by New Boots Magazine as 'perfect for fans of rootsy music by the likes of John Mayer or Counting Crows'. Demos, a live CD/DVD, support and headline gigs, festival slots and a tour with US artist Janet Robin followed. He then formed the full band Stevie Jones and The Wildfires which soon took priority releasing two studio albums; 2018’s 'Angels and Sirens' and the 2015 debut 'Stratigraphic Heart', featuring Marshall Gill from New Model Army. With an edgier rock direction they received airplay on Planet Rock, played at HRH Crows 2019 and continue to gain favourable reviews. Stevie still also performs as a solo artist. New material and re-releases are underway.
