Guitarist, singer and songwriter Gina Volpe may be best known from the band she started back in high school, the legendary NYC punk outfit, @Lunachicks.
But Volpe has firmly established herself as a solo artist since the release of her 2017 debut solo EP, ‘Different Animal' an explosive effort blending analog and electronic elements with She Shreds Magazine praising it as “...a diverse collection of tracks layered with chunky riffs, pop, and dance sounds.”
Volpe’s 2019’s ambitious release of several monthly singles is a series entitled, “Winter To Spring” which kicked off with January's feminist anthem and punch-in-the-gut “Time to Come,” that Rolling Stone raved: "[Volpe] channels modern angst via detuned metal guitars and rattling 808 beats on her new solo single."
Volpe’s heart is fully present in her newest music. The remaining singles (currently in various stages of mixing and recording) all have their own story, style, and mood. With February’s quirky pop hit, ‘Make It Good’ providing the perfect soundtrack to the current Vans ad campaign featuring Gina wailing on her guitar live at CBGB’s in the 90’s.
Known as a blistering lead guitarist, Volpe made the leap to frontwoman in the early 2000's by launching @Bantam. Volpe is also known for her film scoring, composing an off-Broadway rock musical, and even as the motion capture model for video game Rock Band. In 2017 Volpe teamed up with @Peaches to perform at Sam Bee’s ‘Not The White House Correspondents Dinner’
