London-based singer-songwriter Jonathan Thorne combines folk and pop in a mellow yet crowd-pleasing sound.
Growing up in a music-filled home in Coventry, Jonathan gained an interest in music from a young age. Aged 11 he started to teach himself guitar and not long after started songwriting. At 15, he took himself to a local studio and along with friend Chris Tye, self-released his first EP, 'I Once Was Lost But Now', an introspective look on finding your place as a teenager. Since then, he has spent a year in Brighton as a music intern and has recently moved to Bloomsbury’s UCL to study. His upcoming single 'Ocean View' was written as he prepared to move to the south coast, leaving friends behind.
Jonathan takes influence from pop and alternative music - artists such as The Japanese House and Coldplay. Yet childhood influences like Eva Cassidy's 'Songbird' give his music echoes of folk.
