He founded militant post-punk outfit, Manual Sex Drive, as well as The Video Nasties prior to that, and lent his guitar and saxophone skills to The Limit Club for a time. He currently records and self-produces all of his own music, and performs live a solo act, switching instruments from guitar, saxophone and synthesizers.
His songwriting frequently deals with far-left politics, and he has described himself as an anarchist, socialist and staunch anti-capitalist. He explores themes of greed, police brutality, toxic masculinity, and anti war, using dark humor, pop culture references and the protest song in his music. His most recent full length LP, “Autonomously Yours” focuses on love as a theme, exploring the beauty and darkness of affection, sexuality and relationships through the lens of an activist.
