Quiet Hounds was formed in the summer of 2011 on a return trip home from Austin, TX to Atlanta, GA. Members from various musical projects in the southeast pontificated on a new joint venture that would produce the lush 7 song EP, "Southern Charm".
It was shared with friends and was the start to something the group hadn't anticipated. 2012's revered "Megaphona" found the Quiet Hounds on a trajectory that left the group uncertain of how to the handle attention, rejecting any gravitation to label deals and typical touring schedules. The group internalized and rarely performed, instead leaning on large format theatric productions in unusual historical event spaces for several years.
After several single releases, including the Andersonville prison salute "Beacon Sun", the band released "The Wild Hunt" in 2014. It tested the band's personal boundaries and by 2015, it parted ways with a founding member and a line up shift kept the outfit in motion. The bands release, "Shake Don't Shatter" saw bi-coastal production while the band's lead singer moved for two years to California. On return, the band quickly ramped up production on its newest record and sought to perform more frequently, spinning off its intimate live show culinary experience, Dinner Bell ( and experimenting with new sounds & instrumentation. "Characteristics of Living Things" was released in the fall of 2017 and was quickly followed by the video "Emperors". Check it out at
