During the New York City lockdown in April 2020, I wrote and produced the single The Grass Was Greener with my producer Mike Abiuso. I sang into my home microphone, yelled at my mother, recorded the piano track, yelled at her a little more, and somehow we sent it to Mike at home in Brooklyn. In his makeshift home studio, he started to layer on the instrumentation and create the dreamy, nostalgic sound I wanted. Somehow, going back and forth quite a bit, we got there. Although the world is still ablaze in crisis, I continue to write and record, with a new EP due this fall. Follow me on Instagram for my live stream shows, I love to play acoustic versions of the new material. Find me there @emmrosemusic Come join my international family, as all are welcome.
MP3 Hugger writes: "Emmrose has a stirring sense of destiny that gives ‘Hopeless Romantics’ a vitality and it proves to be a stirring illustration of a prodigious talent. The 16-year-old from New York has crafted something more here, a song that could have ended like all the rest but there is true magic in its thrust."
