with her soft, sweet, and husky warble. She is in turn vulnerable, defiant, sad, content, and mournful without ever raising her voice above a breathy sigh.” - Happy Mag
2016 was a big year for St. South. The Western Australian artist released Nervous Energy (her first self-produced album), garnered millions of listens on Spotify, and had her tracks ‘Slacks’ and ‘Another Way’ featured on The Vampire Diaries and The Fosters. At home in Aus, her single ‘Lover’ was added to JJJ rotation.
This year sees St. South return to her stripped back, soulful core. With 'Inure', the Fremantle based producer-singer has embraced a truthful, minimalist style of songwriting. Reminiscent of Julien Baker, but with the distinctive Australian inflection of Courtney Barnett, 'Inure' is the first single from St. South's upcoming EP, due out in November 2017.
