Rob released his first EP 'Tiki Tapu' in 2014 following the release of his popular protest single 'Pōnga rā'. He picked up a Tui for “Best Māori Album” (Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards), the prestigious APRA Maioha Award, and three Waiata Māori Music awards. His debut album 'PŪMAU', boasting catchy reggae grooves 'Paremata mēne', 'Mai anō' and the moving ballad 'Wai-aroha' (feat. Maisey Rika) also picked up five New Zealand music awards in 2016.
Rob’s music has seen him perform in front of many international audiences and collaborate with some of New Zealand’s finest musicians including Ria Hall, Troy Kingi, Jon Toogood, Warren Maxwell and Annie Crummer. In 2014 he opened for John Legend with Maisey Rika and Seth Haapu.
In Summer 2017, Rob will release his second album “Survivance” - a fresh presentation of festival soul & RnB tracks that promote the Māori nation as relevant, courageous and unrelenting in their pursuit of self determination.
