“Magnificent… The only word for it.” Dean Jackson, BBC Introducing
Demons Of Ruby Mae are back with new single ‘Hero’. BBC Introducing’s very own Dean Jackson was the first to play the single on his show and when appearing on BBC 6 Music. Of the band he says “A supremely talented duo whose outstanding song writing results in memorable and stirring tracks. This is matched by their flawless live performances.”
They recorded it with producer Phil Bulleyment (Gaz Coombes, The Slow Readers Club, Blossoms) who recorded their previous single ‘Tomorrow’, twice named Single Of The Week on BBC Radio Leicester. An unprecedented feat. In their own words “were trying to adapt the lyrics to a more upbeat sound. The concept was that everyone wants to be someone else in life. Everyone has an ideal, something or someone they look up to, and as you build yourself up to be that hero, you’re actually the hero of other people!” Featuring singer Jonny Gavin’s signature vocal features on top of layers of synths and drums the track substantiates just why the band were one of BBC Introducing East Midland’s Top 20 artists played in 2018 and have featured on Spotify’s Hot New Bands and Best of Indie Pop playlists.
Having just headlined this year’s BBC Introducing Festival at De Montfort Hall, Jonny Gavin and Adam Rowley are putting on a very intimate show at The Shed in Leicester on November 23rd.
The Shed, Leicester – Saturday 23rd November
