Ryan Amador is no stranger to songwriting. He started writing songs at age 9, emulating late 90’s MTV with his own elementary school boy band.
Upon graduating from NYU in 2012, he released his first EP, “Symptoms of a Wide Eyed Being” with NY-based creators Justin Goldner & Shaina Taub. Ryan then spent a year recording his SELF-TITLED album with artist David Baloche, featuring the talents of many of his college classmates, including vocals from Kiah Victoria & Jo Lampert, drums by Sammy Miller, & cello by actor Mason Lee.
Ryan is best known for his song "Instead" & videos "Define Me" & "Spectrum”. In 2014, he followed up with his electro-soul EP “4S”, the first project with his long-running collaborator, LA-Based Daniel Weidlein. From there, the pair embarked on an album, live show & episodic film project titled “(In) Body Vol. 1: Becom(In)g” (available on YouTube). In 2017, Ryan released two more EP’s: a raw folk EP "Seattle Songs" & the experimental EP “The Lost Tapes”.
Working with 10 different producers throughout the United States, Ryan's third full-length album, "The American" (2019) is a sonic, social landscape of the country told through a personal lens. He then followed it with activist song & video "Like A Woman", a collaboration with women's rights organization V-Day.
In addition to his own music, Ryan has been a songwriter for artists Blake McGrath, Luke Edgemon, Mario Jose, & more, as well as a theater director, writer, & performer in NY & LA.
