Thommy Simmons and Sam Saunders cut their teeth on Auckland’s DJing circuit in 2014. Two years later, they turned their talents to producing their own material and have since evolved into the mesmerizing live act that exists today.
Enlisting an impressive cast of vocalists from across Australasia, Chores are known for pairing soulful vocals with infectious deep house and pop melodies.
Since 2016 they’ve released a string of winning singles, including their latest ‘Surrender’, featuring Abby Wolfe, which was added to rotation on Bali’s Top 40 radio station Hard Rock FM and Australia’s famed Triple J Unearthed, which also premiered the song’s video, made by motion graphics artist Mardo El Noor.
In their homeland of New Zealand, ‘Surrender’ was added to leading dance and pop stations, ZM, The Edge and George FM. It also debuted at #4 on the New Zealand Heatseekers Chart and climbed Spotify’s Viral Chart.
Chores’ other tracks have also charted well, with all of their releases in 2017 making the Top 5 in the Heatseekers chart. They include ’Away’ featuring Omega Levine, ‘By Your Side’ featuring Red London and ‘Losing You’, which also debuted on seven New Music Fridays upon release.
In September 2017, the duo was awarded ‘Breakthrough Artist of the Year’ at the station’s inaugural George FM Awards.
