Kingman is the one-man rock and roll vehicle for British multi-instrumentalist Ru Hazell. Inspired by the philosophy employed by Dave Grohl on the first Foo Fighters record, Hazell wrote the songs, sang and played all the instruments on the debut Kingman EP, Escapegoat. He also heads his own record label, Not Out Productions. Self taught from the age of 10 on drums/guitar/bass/keys etc, it wasn’t until the ripe old age of 35 that he took vocal lessons. Finally realizing that you can’t be a promising youngster forever, in 2019 he entered the studio to record 12 songs with Bob Marlette at the helm, the first 4 of which ended up becoming Escapegoat. 2 more EPs, Humble Brag and Selfie-Destruct will follow in 2020. Kingman is just Ru Hazell - one English bloke playing rock music on electric guitars and real drums, having the time of his life. He doesn’t always talk about himself in the third person.
