Evan Alexander Moore is a New York-based Folk-Singer/Songwriter. He likes good lines, better melodies, and middle fingers to those who abuse power.
Writing Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger scrawls against oligarchs, simultaneously flirting with the flowery and beautiful lyrics of a Bob Dylan or Joni Mitchell. While he knows the footsteps he is following, he takes note from more current artists. He points to rambling monologues like that of LCD Soundsystem, the emotional depths of Radiohead, and the lyrical incisions of Kendrick Lamar as huge inspirations. Evan aims to bring the traditional folk art into modern times, never wanting to be pigeon-holed or to be stagnant.
Born in Houston, Evan is a proud Texan until he dies. He currently studies Psychology, writes poetry, and plays board games. He loves kettle chips, childish humor, Whataburger, and his Mama. He’s also quite proud of his calves.
