Formed in the south side of Chicago in 2015 by Nick Swanson and Mitch Canning, Art quickly released their debut EP after only playing a few gigs.
Recorded live in one day while the members were still fresh out of highschool, the record ranges from more experimental fare (Titled, Good For You) to straightforward rock like "Two Ways", written by Nick at the age of 15. After a slew of lineup changes and slots at venues like Subterranean and Beat Kitchen the group added members Evan Lewandowski and Teddy Menna to the permanent lineup and released the follow-up Art II, with plans to release a new album in the summer of 2019. Their style is dictated by a lack of one, jazz instrumentation comes in one section of a track while influences from Radiohead and Deftones can be heard as prevalent as Dirty South rap and Freeform Jazz. Often catchy, often loud, never repetitive, the band looks forward to playing as many shows as possible in the coming years.
