Jorge e Mateus are a Brazilian sertanejo duo who made their album debut with Ao Vivo em Goiânia in 2007.
Founded in 2005 in Itumbiara, Goiás, Brazil, the duo comprises Jorge Alves Barcelos (born August 27, 1982) and Mateus Pedro Liduário de Oliveira (born July 15, 1984). After a couple years of live performances, Jorge e Mateus signed a recording contract with Universal Music

The duo's popularity was given a boost when one of the songs from the album, "De Tanto Te Querer," was featured in the popular Rede Globo telenovela A Favorita. The follow-up albums O Mundo é Tão Pequeno: Ao Vivo (2009) and Ao Vivo Sem Cortes (2010) were also live recordings released on both CD and DVD. It was followed by two more live albums, Hora É Agora: Ao Vivo em Jurerê in 2012 and At the Royal Albert Hall a year later. The duo returned to the studio in late 2014, emerging with Os Anjos Cantam the next year. A follow-up live album, 2016's Como. Sempre Feito. Nunca (Ao Vivo), spent ten weeks at number one in Brazil. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
