The Deep Shining Sea

  1. 1.
Girl There's Something You Should Know
Showing up to the scene with guitars in hand, The Deep Shining Sea honed their sound in the back room of an unassuming block of flats, in an unassuming council estate, south west of the banks of the River Clyde.
Armed with a desire to create music, a fresh pack of blank tapes and a trusty old Tascam 4 track cassette recorder the band laid down a set of demos.
Fast forward to 2021, The Deep Shining Sea will unveil their second single this month – focusing on the need for strong personal connections.
Listen Up (You Talk Too Much) will be released on Friday, February 26, and is a deeper and more thought-provoking effort.
The band – made up of singer Steven Hillcoat, bassist Gareth Fairley and drummer Jamie McLachlan – announced themselves on the scene back in March last year with their debut song Girl, There’s Something You Should Know.
This time out, the three-piece is delving into the value of relationships and the solace those connections can provide on our times of need.
