Inspired by interesting sounds and cinematic elements, Drum & Lace melds together sampled field recordings and lush layers of synths to create densely textural and beat-heavy music, greatly drawing from film music, music concrete and modern electronica. Her ambient and chamber work also gathers great inspiration from nature and natural sound, as well as the juxtaposition of unlikely sounds with one another.
Drum & Lace’s composition work includes writing music for fashion shows & films, commercials, and writing for feature-length films such as co-scoring the fashion documentary "The First Monday in May" (dir by Andrew Rossi) that opened the Tribeca Film Festival 2016, and "The Gospel According to André" (dir by Kate Novack) that premiered at TIFF 2017. She has other two films she has scored, “Love and Bananas” (dir by Ashley Bell) and “Invisible Hands” (dir Shraysi Tandon), being released in theaters in 2018.
Recent performances include The Echo Society VI: Family weekend (Los Angeles, CA), Girlschool Festival (Los Angeles, CA) The Satellite Art Show (Miami Beach, FL) with the NY Fem Factory during Art Basel and an ambient set as part of POWACADEMY’s LA Powcast at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts, CA).
Upcoming releases include a chamber-electronic project and film scores, as well as electronic and ambient singles.
