Most notably known for her portrayal of Angie Watts in the BBC soap opera, Eastenders, Anita Dobson also enjoyed a short recording career.
Her roles in various musicals throughout the 1980s showcased Dobson’s vocal talents and secured her a one album contract with Telstar Records.
In August 1986, Dobson released the single, Anyone Can Fall in Love. Based on the theme of Eastenders, the song shot to success and reached No.4 in the UK Singles chart. What’s more, Anyone Can Fall in Love was produced by Queen guitarist and Dobson’s now husband, Brian May.
Dobson’s album, On My Own, was released in 1986 and features covers of popular musical numbers as well as versions of hit songs including You Can’t Hurry Love, originally performed by Diana Ross and The Supremes.
