Most artists choose their name, but Maestro lives up to his. Born on the South Side of Chicago, mom and dad knew their son Maestro Harrell would be an entertainer even before birth.
Since formally entering the industry at just five-years-old, he spent 20 years grinding in the worlds of music, film, and television. Along the way, he starred on HBO’s The Wire in the role of Randy Wagstaff, his own sitcom UPN’s Guys Like Us, The Lion King stage production as Young Simba, and more as well as parts in the critically acclaimed Bone Tomahawk, AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead, and Showtime’s House of Lies, to name a few. He worked under the tutelage of the legendary Jermaine Dupri at just 12-years-old before signing his first major label deal to Def Jam at 15.
In 2012, he made a major impact on the electronic dance music world as a producer and DJ. Receiving support from Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Hardwell, and more, he released his biggest dance floor single to date, “For You” with Dzeko & Torres and Delora, during 2015. It became a standout from Tiësto’s Club Life Vol. 4 New York City compilation and racked up 5 million-plus Spotify streams in under a year’s time. Everything forged a foundation for the release of his independent EP in 2017. M A E S T R O released his first single "I Don't Care" in February of 2017 and already has racked up over 1,000,000 Streams.
