The success of the Ione's first international tour as a backing singer for folk singer Adam Green proved a catalyst for her career, but Ione still wanted to be making her own music, she was Inspired to continue writing her own songs and it gave her the impetus to showcase them as a singer in her own right.
Her first single ‘Back in the Day’, released in 2014, was heavily supported by BBC INTRODUCING and was aired by Tom Robinson Mixtape on BBC Radio 6. It was also chosen by songwriter Mark Hadfield to be played on Huw Stephens show on BBC Radio 1.
In 2016 Ione was one of the original singers in the much acclaimed "Haçienda Classical" project which, alongside a 70 piece Orchestra & legendary DJ's Mike Pickering and Graeme Park, saw some of Manchesters finest singers re-work some of the best dance tunes from the Haçienda era. Ione sang lead on the Brand New Heavies smash hit 'Get Back to Love"
Ione released Tell me in the summer of 2020 and is now releasing the lead single to her E.P Loved By You on the 23rd October
