Sydney Schizzano is a queer singer/songwriter who combines elements of indie-rock, soul, spoken word, and R&B into a unique blend of pop that make her songs both memorable and relatable.
Songs like “Never Be Good” and “Wolves”, off Schizzano's first full length album You Gave Me Love, showcase her ability to draw upon influences such as Childish Gambino and Ed Sheeran for more aggressive and fast paced songs that will have you dancing in no time. Slower and powerful ballads such as “Pamela” and “I Had A Dream Last Night” reveal a soulful, folkier side that can melt hearts, influenced by artists such as Tori Kelly and Regina Spektor.
This hopeless romantic is writing from her point of view. She writes what she knows and sees making her music very relatable. The melodies she comes up with paired with her very canned lyrics make for an interesting combination of both simplicity and complication. Sydney embraces her queerness by writing about past and present loves and how strange growing up queer can be. The now 23 year old is located on Long Island after living in Albany, NY for the past 5 years. Sydney and her creative partner Zach Grappone are currently working on her second full length album and hope to release a single soon.
