The nom de plume of guitarist/songwriter Dan Schwartz, a member of the Philly-based indie folk trio Good Old War, Danny Black delivers knotty and evocative instrumental guitar music that draws inspiration from six- and 12-string legends like Leo Kottke, Tommy Emmanuel, and Robert Fripp.
After the release of Good Old War's fourth studio long-player, Broken Into Better Shape, in 2015, Black began demoing some of the instrumentals that he had been piecing together while on the road. In 2016 he headed to New Jersey to begin laying down tracks for his debut album. The resulting Adventure Soundtrack, a progressive folk, blues, and rock-inspired showcase recorded on acoustic, electric, and 12-string guitar, was released via Nettwerk the following year. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
