Brevner is a name that carries weight on the West Coast.
Growing up in Vancouver of Japanese and Trinidadian descent Matt Brevner has always stood out amongst his peers for his unique look, artistic savviness and brash, honest and unwavering talent.
Through the early years of his music career, Brevner co-founded bsharp collective where his skills in rapping, song-writing, producing and directing elevated his dexterity for his craft leading him to both Juno and Much Music Award nominations in 2012. In 2014 was provided the opportunity to direct and feature in Chinx and French Montana's “Feelings”.
Brevner harnessed his folk-like, heart-on-your-sleeve, writing style to share personal stories of his rough past and create a hip-hop project unlike anything he created before: the Brevner EP. With features from international artists like Riff Raff, Project Pat, King Louie and Rome Fortune the release of this project gained Brevner global traction in 2016.
Brevner combines the heart of the Bushido Project with the classic appeal of Eclectricity and the contemporary style of the Brevner [EP] on his highly anticipated forthcoming LP FACES, set to be released in 2018 . FACES is Brevner going back to his roots...but with a little more experience and a few more stories to tell.
