Despite the modern sound Cameron Hayes characterises, her upbringing was heavily influenced by classical music, being classically trained in piano, vocals and flute. She has been writing and cultivating her own music for over eleven years, and has been performing for just as long. She has solo performed live to crowds of over five thousand people, as well as working with BBC Introducing and doing other independent gigs.
Cameron has just released her first track, ‘Chemical Love’. On the track, she explains; “This track is a portrayal of an unstable and toxic relationship through the metaphor of drug addiction. It focuses on the persons need for this love like it is the best drug in the world that they will never not crave or desire, and how the love numbs them from everything bad in the world”.
With this and numerous other releases planned for the rest of the year, 2019 is shaping up to be the year that critics sit up and take notice of this bright young talent.
