The LA-based electro indie pop duo, Rebecca Butler and Aaron Blackmar, first met in 2012 during a show in Austin, Texas where each were playing with their respective bands, Rebecca Butler and the Richards and The Shears.
Shortly after, Rebecca moved to San Francisco to work on music as a solo artist and start the online retail company, Queen For Dinner. Aaron remained in Austin for the time being continuing to write and produce music for The Shears, signing a lucrative licensing deal.
In 2017, Aaron and Rebecca reconnected and began writing electro-pop music under the name BECCAA (a combination of both of their names). In September 2017, the duo released their first self-titled EP, Beccaa. Soon after, BECCAA signed a sync licensing deal as well. Since then, the group has followed up with several singles including Disco, Crush, and Like a Fire.
