“Soul Songs” is her solo debut out now on Lolipop Records, produced by Kristin Kontrol (fka Dum Dum Girls) and mixed by musical mentor Brad Laner (Medicine). The album finds Taleen’s riot grrrl ethos maturing into a polished punk sound with noise pop, shoegaze, & new wave influences. It was recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound Studios in Hollywood, & featured in Stereogum who likened the sound to a contemporary Blondie, BUST Magazine who called it “dark and danceable,” Pitchfork’s Guide to Summer Albums, & LA Weekly’s Best Indie Punk Albums, & her song “Half Lie” was recently placed in NBC’s new show “Council Of Dads.”
A multi-hypenate to the core, Taleen is founder of what L.A. Times calls “cult favorite” DUM DUM Zine and organizes literary events, sound healing meditations, and works as a creative when not on tour. Poetry, essays, & visual art appears in The Onion, SPIN, Entropy, Razorcake, Los Angeleno, The Bushwick Review, TL;DR Magazine, Yes Poetry, & publications all over the country.
She is generously endorsed by Fender & Death By Audio Effects Pedals.
