Ethan released his first EP The Captain in November 2013, after moving to Oakland, CA, where he still lives. The five-track record is a dramatic soundscape of love, hope, and memory. Two songs from that record, Watercolors and Concrete Jungle, earned accolades at the Oaktown Indie Mayhem festival in 2013 and 2014.
In 2016, TMC opened for four-time Grammy nominee Jewel on her Picking Up The Pieces tour at Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA. Coming off that show, Ethan followed a longtime desire to create a lush full-band sound. He teamed up with his brother Matt, who joined TMC to co-produce, arrange, and drum on the new record.
Fireflies is TMC’s first full-band EP. Produced by Jeff Saltzman (The Killers, Blondie) and Matt Buckner, the album is "a life affirming, joyful collection of songs that find the beauty in both the dark and the light” (Impose). The record infuses Ethan’s soulful songwriting with lush harmonies, intricate instrumentals, and powerful rhythms to produce a full symphonic sound to take on the open road or a hike in the woods.
TMC debuted as a full band in 2018 for the Fireflies record release, headlining SF's historic Great American Music Hall.
