It was a homecoming of sorts for the two to begin sharing songs back and forth. The writing began to quickly highlight the strengths of both individuals – Kaylee’s delicate vocals and Ryan’s intertwining guitar work. They were able to easily trust one another musically and to create a unique expression that was their own.
They began with recording a 4-song EP in a friends’ apartment in 2011. After the release and a stint of touring the two went to record again– this time with producer Daniel Mendez (Heart, Noah Gundersen, Duran Duran) in Brooklyn, NY. The result was their first studio album Letters Kept to Ourselves, which claimed them the iTunes best singer-songwriter album of the year in 2014. After national touring of the album, they teamed up again with Mendez to create their sophomore album Hammer Is Heart. Recorded in Austin, TX – this album is set to release in 2019 via AntiFragile Records.
