Luciana Lumyx is singer, songwriter, pianist and graphic artist. She brings together art and technology, but groove is what really moves her, with an appetite for vintage sound textures from the 70s.
She is now producing her latest pop songs and videos as to be lauched as singles along this year. She started her career with the band Eletrodomésticos just as a girl on the Brazilian mid-1980s music scene, when her pop song about technology and computers "Choveu no Meu Chip" (CBS) reached the top 10 of the national charts. It happened to be a visionary song, for there was no cell phones nor WWW internet yet at that time. Harvey Mason, musician and well-known drummer had produced a song for her band in 1986 when he came to Brazil with the Pat Metheny's tour. Lumyx has graduated as designer, but she continued playing keyboards in other bands and composing soundtracks for TV show openings, using her multimedia approach and visual artist's trained eye. Now she also runs the MusicMakers project, an information platform for musicians about the new scene in the digital music industry.
