At a young age Tammo Tamminga, who is born in the northern part of the Netherlands, received organ and accordion lessons.
When he was 16 years old he switched to guitar because he thought he could get more attention from girls. Then he also discovered that he was a born singing talent. After high school he studied in Groningen and Cardiff. In Groningen he was part of various student bands and in Cardiff he picked up the more traditional singer-songwriter style that is popular in many pubs in Wales. Tammo's first album (2004) was in the Groningen regional language and is called "Dammeet". Next albums were in Dutch; Andere Vrouw (2012), Engel (2015) a joint project with soprano Minke Zeillemaker and Week (2015). Tammo performs regularly, alone or with his band at small festivals, songwriter pubsessions and living room concerts. His most famous song is "Kutwijf" from the album Andere Vrouw, recently rereleased in English as "Cunt". With a few nominations in his pocket, he proves to be one of the stronger singer-songwriters. Keep an eye on him and play Cunt as loud as you can as soon as you see one !
