Pollyanna is a Paris-based indie-folk act lead by Isabelle Casier. Her honest songwriting, her heart-warming voice, the band's quirky strings and industrial drums remind of the edgy charm of Laura Veirs, The Decemberists and PJ Harvey.
Despite a natural flair for minor chords, Pollyanna's cheerful presence, eclectic taste and experiences as an outsider (in Europe, the USA, South America…) open up her musical field to all things pop, rock, folk and folklores. This curiosity led her through an ambitious international touring circuit, along the way sharing the bill with local indie bands and bigger names like Wilco, Sleater Kinney, Bright Eyes, Justin Sullivan, Dominique A or the French chanteuse Françoiz Breut. From acoustic strummers in Memphis and shanty choirs in Bremen to riot grrls in Hamburg, all this moving around gave Pollyanna's sound openness and freedom, as well as helping Isabelle scoop up a bunch of fellow musicians. A taste for friendliness that is noticeable on her records and on stage, whether she plays solo or lines up a full band.<br>
